Weekend History Seminar
18-20 February 2022
Hillscourt Conference Centre, Rose Hill, Rednal, Birmingham B45 8RS
This venue just on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre, proved to be a first class accommodation as well as a central venue easily accessible for members.
Plague and Pestilence
This weekend is designed to encourage members, especially new ones, to informally meet and discuss their chosen aspect of history amongst like-minded, friendly people. This can be either over coffee or by submitting a paper relating to the given theme which is "Plague and Pestilence’". Submitting a paper can be a daunting task, so this is the ideal venue for you to have a go and see how easy it is as you will be talking about your favourite subject to a friendly, interactive audience.
Why not present a paper?
Time slots can vary from fifteen minutes to an hour. Not everyone wants to present a paper, many attend just to listen and engage in the discussion. Everyone who has attended in the past has always commented on what a pleasant and rewarding weekend it is. Included in the weekend will be a visit to a local attraction – this year’s choice of venue is yet to be decided.
The cost for the weekend per person is £247. This includes bed, breakfast, lunch and evening meal. There is no single supplement and all rooms are en suite with WiFi access, tea and coffee facilities and TV. Day rate attendance on the Saturday and Sunday, to include lunch, is £35.50 each day. If you wish to stay on for dinner on the Saturday evening then this is an additional £24.50.
