Weekend History Seminar 2017
Every year we get together for a weekend of history discussions, debates and talks with good food, conversations and some laughs too. We always have a pleasant and rewarding weekend in the company of like-minded enthusiasts.
Friday 24th February until Sunday lunch 26th February 2017
The venue is just on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre, provides first class accommodation, and is a central venue easily accessible for our members.
Hillscourt Conference Centre,
The theme of the weekend will be ‘Women in History’ so once again we are offering plenty of scope for some stimulating discussion. The idea behind this weekend is to encourage members, especially new ones, to informally meet and discuss their chosen aspects of history amongst like-minded, friendly people. This can be either over coffee or by submitting a paper.
We know the idea of speaking in front of an audience is, for some, a rather daunting task, so this is the ideal venue for you to have a go and see how easy it is talking about your favourite subject to a friendly, interactive audience. It not only can help you but it also helps us to promote the scholarly study of history. Time slots can vary from fifteen minutes to an hour.
Even if you do not wish to present a paper then please do consider attending, you will enjoy a pleasant and rewarding weekend.
Cost of weekend
The cost for the weekend per person is £215. There is no single supplement and all rooms are ensuite with WiFi access, tea and coffee facilities and TV. Day rate attendance to include lunch only is £35.00
