Coventry Motor Museum
Arrangements have been for members (relatives and friends welcome) to visit the Coventry Motor Museum on Saturday 14th April 2018 commencing at 1 pm. The Museum is situated on the edge of the town centre, at Millennium Place, Hales Street and is wheelchair friendly. There is no admission charge.
The Museum houses iconic vehicles of the past as well as those of the future. For a small fee there is the opportunity to drive a “simulated supersonic car.” Alongside this are illustrations of the inventors and entrepreneurs who contributed to the growth of the motor industry and the area generally. Unfortunately the industry subsequently declined which is recoded in the Museum.
Exhibits depict the considerable air raid damage Coventry suffered during the last war and how the City was reconstructed.
Coventry is easily accessible from major motorways and is well signposted. There are pay and display car parks near the Museum in Silver Street (CV1 1HW) or at Belgrade Plaza (CV1 4AJ) Additionally there is a park and ride service from just outside the City with buses stopping adjacent to the Museum. Coventry railway station is situated 15 minutes walk away and is served by a frequent bus service to the City centre.
Members wishing to attend should assemble in the coffee shop at the entrance to the Museum. The Museum's telephone number is 02476234270 and the email is firstname.lastname@example.org
